Not to belabor the obvious, but the Tumblr interface and the Dreamwidth interface are entirely different creatures. Naturally, Dreamwidth functionality is reminding me of LiveJournal.

I haven't given it much thought in years, but for a time it was a very important part of my online experience, and I did meet some people there who were important to me, both in terms of my writing and my personal life.

"We had a falling out, like lovers often will," to quote Bob Dylan, and I lost touch with a lot of them. But hope most of them are well.

(Caveats are inevitable, right?)

Yep, I don't think the Nazis ever subverted this little corner of the net! :-)))))

It can be hard to find communities, but the thing is, once you've found them, everything's so beautifully centralised. On tumblr I'd see some posts 50 times on my dash and others not at all, it was VERY irritating.
